Apple Valley High School would like to congratulate Senior Student-Athletes Molly Moynihan and Spencer Rolland for being recognized for their commitment to Athletics, Arts and Academics. On Wednesday, Molly Moynihan and Spencer Rolland were announced as the Region 3AA  Triple AAA Award Winners.

The Triple AAA Award goes to nominated seniors with a 3.0 or higher grade-point average who participate in athletic and fine arts programs, and exhibit exemplary citizenship and the highest standards of sportsmanship and conduct. Each high school in the state can nominate one senior boy and girl for the award. Those students participate in a process at the Region and State level. Apple Valley High School has consistently represented Region 3AA, winning five of the last eight Region AAA Awards.

Spencer participates in the Apple Valley High School Choir, Football, Basketball and Track and Field. Spencer will attend Harvard University this Fall. Molly is a first-chair Trumpet Player in the Apple Valley High School Band and also participates in Cross Country, Basketball and Lacrosse. She has been elected as a Captain in each sport. Molly will attend Concordia University-St. Paul this Fall.

Both students will be considered as finalists for the Statewide Award. The Triple A Award Banquet and the on-court Recognition Ceremony which will take place during the 2018 State Boys Basketball Tournament. In addition, Molly and Spencer will be invited to the Region 3AA Annual Awards Luncheon in April.

Apple Valley High School remains dedicated to developing all of our students in the AAA Philosophy of Athletics, Arts and Academics. AVHS ranks third in Athletic State Championships and first in Fine Arts State Championships in MSHSL history – first in overall Championships. AVHS is the only school in Minnesota history to have a Mr. Hockey, Ms. Hockey, Mr. Basketball, Mr. Wrestler and Ms. Basketball.
